Personnel Today Awards is a annual media recognizing excellence in Human-Resources. Organized by Personnel Today (ProMedia Group UK), it covers the Europe region. Established in 1999.
The Personnel Today Awards are the annual HR awards of Personnel Today, the UK HR trade publication, delivered with ProMedia Group UK. First held in 1999 — the 2025 ceremony was the 27th — they have represented the top tier of UK HR practice for over two decades. Entries are judged by an independent panel of industry experts, and the programme is squarely aimed at working HR, L&D and reward teams rather than invite-only lists: any organisation can pay to enter its initiatives and people.
The 2026 edition ran 23-24 categories covering the full breadth of the function — HR Director, HR Team, Workplace Culture, Employee Experience, Talent Management, Health & Wellbeing, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Family Friendly Employer, Learning & Development, and a new Excellence in AI Adoption category — plus supplier categories for HR consultancies, tech providers and employment law firms. Winners are revealed at a black-tie gala in the Great Room of London's Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane each November, attended by close to 900 people in recent years, and coverage across Personnel Today's channels gives winners visibility throughout the UK HR market.
Entry costs £350 + VAT per entry per category; public sector organisations get a 20% discount and the Excellence in Public Service HR Award is free for all UK public sector bodies. Entries open in spring and typically close mid-June (the 2026 deadline was extended to 19 June), shortlists land in late July, and the ceremony follows in November. Strong entries are outcome-led case studies: a clearly framed business problem, the intervention, and quantified people and commercial results the independent judges can verify.
