SEAL Business Sustainability Awards is a annual industry award recognizing excellence in Sustainability. Organized by SEAL Awards, it covers the Global region. Established in 2017.
The SEAL (Sustainability, Environmental Achievement & Leadership) Awards are run by a US-based environmental advocacy organisation founded by Matt Harney; the Business Sustainability Awards marked their tenth year in 2026. The program honours companies making measurable contributions to sustainability across four entered categories — Environmental Initiative, Sustainable Innovation, Sustainable Product and Sustainable Service — alongside an annual list of the most sustainable companies. Entries are judged by a panel of sustainability leaders drawn from major corporations such as AMD, Illumina and Micron.
Recent winners range from global heavyweights like Hitachi Energy, DP World and Lenovo to emerging climate players such as Jupiter Intelligence and 4AIR, which gives the badge recognition value in corporate ESG and sustainability-marketing circles. A distinguishing feature of the program's model is where the money goes: entry fees fund SEAL's Environmental Journalism Awards and environmental research grants at institutions including Duke, MIT and UCLA, so entering doubles as a modest impact contribution. Winners receive press-release recognition, social media promotion and royalty-free award badges for their communications.
Entry fees run $300–$550 per category depending on category and timing, with an early-bird discount for single entries and a 20% discount for multi-category submissions. The recent cycle set an early-bird deadline in late October, a final deadline in mid-December and winner announcements in late January. Strong entries quantify environmental outcomes — emissions avoided, materials diverted, efficiency gained — rather than describing intentions, since the judging panel is made up of practitioners who run corporate sustainability programs themselves.
