The Lawyer Awards is a annual industry award recognizing excellence in Legal. Organized by The Lawyer, it covers the Europe region.
The Lawyer Awards are the flagship awards of The Lawyer, the UK legal market title, and have run for more than two decades. Around 28 categories span private practice firms, in-house teams, barristers' chambers and legal technology providers; entries are open to global organisations, but most categories relate to work in the courts of England and Wales. A judging panel drawn from the Bar, private practice and in-house legal teams scores every entry to build each category shortlist and select the winners.
Categories include UK Law Firm of the Year, Litigation Team of the Year, Chambers of the Year and Best Technology Product, alongside team and individual honours. Winners are revealed at a black-tie ceremony at London's Grosvenor House hotel each June (16 June in 2026), one of the biggest nights in the UK legal calendar — even a shortlisting is widely publicised by firms and used in pitches and recruitment.
Entry is via an online portal at £205 per entry, with no cap on the number of entries per organisation. For the 2026 awards, eligible work had to fall between January 2025 and the present day, entries closed on 6 February 2026 and finalists were announced in April. Respect the stated word count (a 10% overrun is tolerated), mark confidential material clearly — judges honour for-judges'-eyes-only redactions — and build each entry around evidenced outcomes for a specific case, deal or client rather than general practice credentials.
