Sarah Wyer

Sarah Wyer is a researcher, educator, and advocate for inclusive technology. She is currently completing a PhD at Durham University, where her work focuses on identifying and addressing gender bias in large language models. Her research takes an intersectional approach to fairness in AI, aiming to make artificial intelligence more accountable and equitable in real-world applications.

Sarah is the creator of the Discrimination DRIFT framework, a tool designed to help organizations embed fairness, transparency, and inclusion throughout the AI development process. She presented this work at the 2025 Women in Tech Global Conference, where it was widely recognized for its practical impact.

Beyond her research, Sarah is deeply committed to mentoring and community-building. As an Educator, she supports students from diverse backgrounds and co-leads initiatives like the Bias in AI Research Group and Durham Women in Tech. She also serves as a Global Ambassador for the WomenTech Network and frequently shares her insights through keynotes, talks, podcasts, and workshops.

Sarah combines academic rigor with real-world focus, working across disciplines to help build a more ethical and inclusive tech future.
