With a background in Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Engineering and Master of Science in Electronic Commerce & InternetComputing, Karen has been working as a developer and business analyst in the technology division of an investment bank at the start of her career. She is now a product manager of the bank’s equities electronic trading platform who help to govern the corresponding product development and maximize the corresponding algorithm performance from both hardware and software enhancement.
She's a female advocate both within the bank and outside the bank to promote STEM to the youth and young professionals. She has been acting as both the host and also the volunteer for bank's internal STEM 4 Girls events for a number of years. She also helps to connect banks' technology department with schools to donate additional laptops and hardware to the students. Furthermore, she is currently the chairlady of one engineering charitable organization in Hong Kong. She is the core person who drives her team to deliver 35+ events across the years to promote and inspire the next generations.
