Equity and Empowerment (EE) is a feminist non-profit dedicated to advancing gender equality and social justice in northwest Syria and beyond. Over the past year, we have empowered 1,200+ women and youth—including 700+ female university students—with cybersecurity and digital literacy training. Our Mini Digitize program reached 600+ children, including those with disabilities, helping them recognize and respond to online threats.
We integrate digital safety into over 100 gender-based violence (GBV) case management sessions, supporting 300+ survivors with secure communication tools and privacy education. Our two Digital Creativity Labs serve as safe spaces where 400+ women and girls access digital literacy support, report cyber harassment confidentially, and receive legal and mental health services.
Through the Defemale Podcast, we amplify women’s voices by sharing stories of resilience, digital rights, and online safety. Recognized as a Best Practice by the Northwest Syria Protection Cluster and as a trusted META partner, EE leads innovative tech-based responses to GBV. We have also trained 45 women-led initiatives in digital safety and survivor-centered storytelling.
By combining grassroots activism with technology, EE creates safe, empowering environments where women and youth can thrive digitally and socially.
