Asian Hospital Management Awards (HMA Awards) is a annual industry award recognizing excellence in Healthcare. Organized by Clarion Events Pte Ltd (Hospital Management Asia), it covers the Asia Pacific region. Established in 2002.
The HMA Awards — long known as the Asian Hospital Management Awards — recognize best practices in Asia's hospitals and are run by Clarion Events Pte Ltd alongside the annual Hospital Management Asia (HMA) conference. Launched in 2002, the program marked its 25th year with the 2026 edition and describes itself as one of the region's most respected and longest-running recognition programmes for healthcare excellence. Winning entries from institutions such as Singapore's NUHS hospitals and Bangkok Hospital are prominently cited across the region, reflecting the program's standing among Asian hospital leaders.
The 2026 edition features 11 categories: Clinical Effectiveness Improvement, Infection Control Excellence, Most Advanced Healthcare Technology, Most Sustainable Hospital, Best in Community Involvement, Best in Financial Improvement, Best in Talent Development, Patient Experience Improvement, Chief Nurse of the Year, Hospital CEO of the Year, and a new Emerging Healthcare Leader award. Winners are revealed at the HMA Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony held with the conference (Bangkok in 2026). The organizers position a win as a way for hospitals to establish themselves as regional leaders, build internal momentum for improvement and boost team morale — in practice it is the most visible hospital-management credential in Asia-Pacific.
Entry is open to hospitals across the region and is deliberately affordable: there is a US$100 admin fee per submission (plus a 3.5% system charge), and the same project may be submitted to more than one category. Submissions for the 2026 cycle closed on 5 June 2026, with winners announced at the conference gala. Strong entries present a specific, completed project — not a general institutional profile — with documented before/after outcomes, and the categories reward initiatives that other Asian hospitals could replicate, so emphasize transferability alongside results.
