Jeannette Lehr
Assistant Director at IU Center of Excellence for Women & Technology
The Center of Excellence for Women & Technology serves as a national model to encourage, empower, and advance women from all levels and disciplines. The Center is unique in higher education, and the only campus-wide center serving women on the IUB campus.
Our mission focuses on:
Building Confidence and Knowledge About Technology
Expanding Leadership and Technology Skills
Fully Leveraging Technology in Support of Academic and Professional Excellence
Fostering Intellectual Networks, Resources, and Interdisciplinary Collaborations
Our Center was launched in 2013 in response to a national call to increase the meaningful engagement of women with technology. In each consecutive year since, we have experienced steady growth in affiliate numbers and program offerings.
Our work is driven by the core belief that technology is increasingly adjacent to and a catalyst for excellence in every field. Women with robust tech skills are better positioned to influence and drive organizational change, fostering environments that benefit from diverse perspectives. Continuous skill development empowers women to contribute more effectively, achieve greater academic and career satisfaction, and break through the barriers that have traditionally limited their advancement in technology and technology-adjacent fields.
Two key factors drive our work:
Breaking Systemic Barriers and Empowerment through Influence.
